The build ends twice
Eight months after your first message to Paola, the house stands, and the build ends twice. Bolivian Spanish terms
- el quincho: the covered barbecue area The roofed asado corner that almost every cruceño house plan includes, in this build it's the proud extra, and the first item on your punch list is its missing second coat of paint.
- el asadito de entrega: the handover barbecue The unwritten last clause of a Bolivian build: the owner treats the crew to an asado when the work closes. One afternoon of meat converts eight months of contract into a relationship that answers the phone when the garantía is needed.
- la declaratoria de construcción: the declaration of construction (registry update) The trámite that updates your folio at Derechos Reales so the built house legally exists on your title. Until it's done, the registry still shows a bare lot, the build's paperwork isn't finished when the paint dries.
