1. Who we are

Spanish for Bolivia is operated by Spanish for Real Life, based in Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and app (the “Service”), and how we use it.

2. What we collect

We collect:

• Account information: your email address and authentication data.
• Learning data: your lesson progress, exercise answers, chosen learning goal, and interface language preference.
• Purchase data (once passes are available for purchase): which pass you hold and its status. Full card/payment details are collected and stored by Paddle, our payment processor and merchant of record, we never see or store full card numbers.
• Basic usage/device data (e.g. browser type, coarse event logs) used to operate and improve the Service.

We do not knowingly collect government ID numbers, addresses, or other sensitive personal documents through the Service.

3. How we use it

We use this information to provide the Service (save your progress, personalize lessons, grade exercises), to respond to support requests, to detect and prevent abuse, and to improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.

4. AI-assisted feedback

Some exercise feedback and correction is generated using third-party AI providers. The Spanish text you submit for grading may be sent to these providers to generate feedback; we design lessons so you are never prompted to enter real personal, financial, or government document data into an exercise.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers (“processors”) needed to run the Service:

• Supabase, for account authentication and database hosting.
• Paddle.com Market Limited, for payment processing, invoicing, and tax compliance, once purchases are live.
• Our AI providers, for exercise grading and feedback, as described above.

We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your interface language, and run basic, non-PII conversion analytics. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

7. Data retention

We keep account and learning data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or export your learning data, by contacting info@spanishforbolivia.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside Canada. Where this happens, we rely on our providers’ own safeguards for cross-border data transfer.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the effective date above will change when we do.
