Paying a procedure fee
Many trámites require a payment made as a depósito at a bank rather than at the office itself. Before you pay, verify three things with the official or teller: where the pago is made, the exact monto, and which cuenta it goes to. After paying, always ask for and keep your comprobante or boleta, it is your proof, and you often have to bring it back to continue the trámite. Confirm the next step out loud so you know whether to return the same day. Treat amounts and account details as something to verify on the spot, since they can change.

- pago: payment The core word for the fee you must pay.
- depósito: deposit / payment Fees are often paid as a bank deposit.
- comprobante: receipt / proof Keep it as proof you paid.
