Joining a parrillada
A parrillada is one of the warmest ways to be folded into a group in Bolivia: grilled meat, churrasco, yuca, drinks, and long, easy hours together. Accepting warmly and asking “¿qué llevo?” shows you’re part of it; a drink or soda is a perfect contribution. You can fully enjoy it while keeping your own boundaries, it’s completely fine to say “no tomo alcohol, pero llevo soda” or to leave when you like. No one should pressure you to drink, eat more, or stay late; a relaxed “me quedo un rato” is always enough.
