Knowing where you stand
This mission is about describing your entry and stay clearly and then asking the office to tell you what applies, not working it out yourself. You explain when you entered, point to your entry stamp if asked, and ask how many days you have and which option fits your case. Counting legal days or deciding your status is the official’s job, so phrase everything as a question and let them confirm. The app helps you ask and verify; it does not calculate your status or replace official information.
Essential vocabulary
- situación migratoria: migration / immigration situation The phrase officials use to talk about your status
- estadía: stay Refers to your time in the country, not a hotel stay
- días: days You count and confirm dates in days, not weeks
- entrada: entry Your entry date is the anchor for any question you ask
- salida: exit The other date officials check alongside your entry
- fecha: date You will state dates aloud, so practise saying them clearly
Bolivian Spanish terms
- sello de entrada: entry stamp The passport stamp officials look at to read your entry date
- permanencia: permitted stay Local word for how long you may remain, always confirm it
Useful phrases
- Quiero entender mi situación migratoria.: I want to understand my migration situation. Open the conversation at the migration office
- Entré a Bolivia el…: I entered Bolivia on [date]… State your entry date so they can check it
- ¿Cuántos días me quedan?: How many days do I have left? Ask the official to tell you, rather than guessing
- ¿Qué opción corresponde a mi caso?: Which option applies to my case? Let them point you to the right path
- ¿Me puede confirmar las fechas?: Can you confirm the dates for me? Have the office verify entry and exit dates
