Bolivian Spanish word

harto

Meaning: a lot, plenty

How it is used in Bolivia

In Bolivia harto means 'mucho', 'a lot', and it is very common: you will hear it every day, all the time in Sucre. It does not mean 'fed up' as in Spain or Mexico, where 'estar harto' means being fed up: in Bolivia 'Entiendes harto' is praise.

After a verb it means 'a lot' ('estudia harto', 'aprendí harto', «le vamos a extrañar harto»); before a noun it is harto or harta ('hay harto sol', «hace harto frío», 'tuviste harta paciencia'), and «harto papel» is a lot of paperwork.
