The Cochabamba agreement marker par excellence: it accepts, confirms and warms a plan all at once, Bolivian chat glue that closes a small step warmly ('ya pues: cuatro y media'). Hearing it back means the plan just locked in; giving it back ('ya pues, sacamos Tarata') makes your Spanish instantly sound at home.
As a reply it means 'okay', common in Cochabamba: wait for the explanation after it. In La Paz too it is a warm, relaxed way to agree to a plan, and «¿ya?» at the end of a sentence asks 'OK?'.
It is also the little push that opens an invitation, as in 'Ya pues, decime Roberto nomás': the offer is genuine, not a formality.
